She woke up facing the window and watched the snow falling. She now knew she liked snow as long as she was watching it from the inside, in bed and with a certain angel’s arms around her.
She was still reluctant to trust what was going on. After they had watched the fireworks, which she had to admit were very impressive, they had talked to Nishikido and he had explained some things, others were still hazy but she could live with that for now.
They had also been told that they could do whatever they like most of the time, as long as they don’t bring attention to themselves and that once in a while “some angel or demon would come give them a stupid assignment” she was still not sure whether to be offended or not.
She turned to face the still sleeping Takahisa and ran her hands down his back. There were two thin scars where his wings used to be, though he insisted he had barely noticed when they were taken.
“Do you miss them that much?”
“They were cute, and you could fly.”
“I could jump off a building and see what happens.”
She narrowed her eyes. “There, talking again. Your mouth has much better uses.”
“Hey, I’m more than just a pretty face.”
“Yes, but not jumping off buildings. You might die, we don’t know and if you EVER leave me I’ll hunt you down and…”
“Cut my Christmas bells?”
“At the very least.”
He touched her horns, just to watch her shiver, probably, and then ran his hand through her hair. “Where would I go? I love you.”
“Even if I sucked at being a demon?”
“I sucked at being an angel. Heaven, Hell. It doesn’t matter, I’d rather stay in between, right here with you.”
“You are so cheesy. I’ll have to shut you up, I guess,” she said before she kissed him on their first Christmas on their new shot at living on Earth.
