The room was dark. There was a sudden silence and a mysterious air filled the room. Suddenly, a spotlight lit the stage and the silhouette of a boy filed the empty platform. He set what looked like a briefcase on the floor and knelt down to get it's contents. He walked towards the lit area and stood in front of a Mic. He lifted the violin he took from the case to shoulder level and started caressing the strings with his bow as an engrossing music filled the establishment. 'I know you don't notice me. I know you don't see me, but...' I paused to sigh 'I Love You, Henry Lau. God, I wish I would stop fading to black' I thought.
It's true though, about me fading to black.
Ever since I was a child I was thought 3 things by my parents; 1. Smile, 2. Look Pretty, 3. Quote: Don't do anything to embarrass us. Being from a prestigious family, I did what any proper girl would do: do what I was told.
Every time there would be a gathering at my family's mansion, I would stand beside my parents and smile, acknowledging every compliment with a silent 'thank you'. The people who complimented me usually never speak to me again throughout the whole night.
But that's got to stop. I want to be seen. I want to be reckless. I want to disobey orders. I want to...
I want to love...
