Christine looked up at the huge sign above the café doors. She wiped away her tears and sniffed while holding a coupon in her hand. This was supposed to be the hottest new café that recently opened in the center of Tokyo. Her friend gave her a coupon and told her to come here. Christine had just been rejected by another boy and she was feeling…well…like shit. She had a bad habit of always falling for the bad boys, and falling head over heels for boys who didn’t like her back.
She sniffed and stepped inside the café. The moment she entered she was greeted by one of the hottest men she had ever seen. The waiter was sharply dressed in a crisp white dress shirt. The black bow tie around his neck really suited his round face and the black apron was firmly tied around his slim waist. When he saw her enter he immediately smiled at her, showing her a set of perfect white teeth. “Welcome to Bishounen Café!” he greeted, his voice not that deep, just right.
Christine smiled and nodded her head slightly, the previous jerk quickly forgotten. “Hai” she said with an over enthusiastic voice while following him inside the café. She didn’t really bother to look around and admire the lovely café, instead she was busy admiring the army of hot waiters which were each busy tending to their own customers. She noticed that one of them was standing behind the bar with another one. Christine noticed that one of them was teaching the other something. Both of them were super hot and she was about to trip on her own two feet when she was brought back to reality by the sound of her waiter’s voice. “My name is Hideaki Torio and I will be your waiter for today, is this table ok Miss?” Hideaki asked, giving her a smile and showing her a table near the window.
“Oh…thank you.” Christine replied while nodding vigorously, not quite sure what he told her. She sat down on the chair Hideaki pulled out for her and looked at the menu, eying each waiter that walked by with a keen eye. It was as if she was a hungry kid in a candy store. They were all so hot!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Now do you understand how this works?” he asked, looking at the new waiter who was standing nervously next to him.
“Hai, thank you Nishikido-san,” he replied, bowing slightly, his curly hair covering his eyes.
“Don’t call me that, call me Ryo, Yamashita.” Ryo said, giving Yamapi a pat on the back, causing the latter to cough.
This was Yamashita Tomohisa’s first day working at Bishounen Café and honestly he was scared shitless. He had wanted to become a famous actor but didn’t really make it yet so as a part time job he decided to audition for the famous Bishounen café. He was surprised when he had received that famous call informing him that he had been chosen.
You see, Yamashita Tomohisa was handsome, but he didn’t really fit in Bishounen Café, mainly because of one tiny little problem. He wasn’t really all that good with girls. Looking around him he knew he had to step up his game and get over his shyness with the opposite gender, or else he was sure he was going to get fired.
He gulped loudly when Ryo, who was his manager, pushed him from behind the bar and told him to go stand by the door and wait for their next customer. It was a fact that most of the customers of Bishounen café were girls and it was also a fact that if he wanted to keep his job he was going to have to step up to the plate. He walked towards the front door, his knees slightly shaking and stood next to it, praying to God that his first customer was going to be a nice one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course Christine went back to Bishounen Café. She had made it into her regular hang out and even managed to make friends with some of the waiters. There was Caleb Santos, the charming waiter with the goofy smile, Meljohn Magno, the caring waiter with the cute laugh, Kiko Ramos, the slightly perverted but sweet waiter who always had some comment ready, Yamashita Tomohisa, the cute but shy waiter who never really talked to her and finally Hideaki Torio, the hot waiter she had been eyeing ever since she had come to know this place.
She had fallen for Hideaki from the moment she had laid eyes on him. He almost always served her and she thought treated her differently than the other customers. She had made up her mind and decided that Hideaki was the one.
“Hello Christine-san, how are you today?” Kiko asked, looking down at her with his famous grin.
“Ah Kiko …I haven’t seen Aki-kun around lately, is he ok?” Christine asked, looking around the whole café with a frown on her face.
“Oh, you don’t know?” Caleb suddenly said, popping up next to them…trust Caleb to be in the place where gossip was about to be shared.
“No I don’t…” Christine replied, still frowning, she had stayed late at the café again, hoping he would show up at some point. She had been gathering the courage to ask him out for ages and she had finally made up her mind to tell him.
“He quit.” Kiko replied wiping his hands on his apron.
“Oh…wait…WHAT?” Christine yelled, almost making Yamapi drop the dirty plates he was carrying out of shock. She turned to look at him and said, “Sorry Pi.” Then she turned back to Kiko and shouted, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE QUIT?”
“I mean he quit Chri…that’s it…” Kiko said while shrugging. He suddenly realized that she didn’t know why most waiters quit Bishounen Café. Everyone in there knew that she liked Torio so he didn’t really want to be the one who would tell her the truth.
“Does that mean he won’t be coming back?” she asked in a soft voice.
None of the boys wanted to tell her that he had quit because he had found a girlfriend. So Kiko hurriedly walked away, claiming he had a phone call and Caleb just disappeared. She turned to look at the only one who was left and that was Yamapi. He was wiping the table next to hers and when he heard the silence behind him he suddenly felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
“Why did Aki-kun quit?” Christine asked Yamapi, making him jump slightly at the fact that she was so close.
“Um…well…he kind of…found a girlfriend.” Yamapi replied, biting his lower lip and blushing slightly.
“What?” Christine uttered, her voice coming out in a whisper, her hazel eyes watering.
“Yeah he found a girlfriend…” Yamapi said, immediately regretting his words when she burst out crying in front of him.
“I can’t believe this!” she cried, grabbing him by his shirt and wrapping her arms around him.
Yamapi was stunned. He wasn’t able to move out of shock and so kept his arms straight. “Why doesn’t he like me that way?” Christine whined, rubbing her cheek against his chest.
“I…” Yamapi began to say, but in truth he had no idea what to say to her. He wasn’t particularly good in these situations.
“I need chocolate…” Christine said, letting go of him and wiping her tears with the back of her hand. “Do you have double fudge chocolate cake with chocolate syrup?” she asked, with bright hopeful eyes. Chocolate always helped in mending her broken heart.
“I’m sorry Christine-san but we are out of chocolate cake today,” Yamapi said with a worried expression on his face.
“Oh…ok…” Christine mumbled as she lowered her head, looking at the floor. “Ne…” she said, suddenly, making Yamapi stop and look at her. “Why is it that no guy likes me?” she asked, tears brimming in her already puffy eyes.
“Just because one guy doesn’t like you, you shouldn’t think that no guy likes you. One guy is what matters and not ten.” Yamapi said, looking at her, surprising Christine and himself with how easily he said those words.
Christine looked at Yamapi with wide eyes and a slightly open mouth. She cracked a smile and suddenly hit him on his shoulder, making him stumble a bit. “That was so sweet!” she said giggling and putting her hands on her hips.
Yamapi smiled slightly and nodded. “I guess I better go now…” Christine declared while sighing.
“Oh…are you ok though?” Yamapi asked, looking at her while tilting his head slightly.
“Yeah…” Christine replied while smiling at him and looking down at the floor. Once again she had fallen for a guy who didn’t like her.
“Want to go somewhere and talk about this?” Yamapi offered, he was feeling uneasy letting her go like that. When she didn’t respond he immediately blushed and said, “It’s not like I’m trying to take advantage of you!”
She looked at him and then said, “Ok, on two conditions, you have to listen to me complain and the place has to have chocolate cake,”
“Ok.” Yamapi said, untying his apron and giving her another smile.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yamapi walked into the café to start another day of work.
He started to greet the customers and found himself smiling just a little bit more brightly that day. He found himself looking at the door, whenever it opened, hoping it was her.
“Yo~” Caleb greeted, smacking Yamapi on the back.
“Hi Caleb, how are you?” Yamapi asked, looking at Caleb, giving him a small smile.
“I’m fine, but I guess this will be my last week working here…” Caleb said, blushing slightly and scratching his ponytail.
“Oh! You found a girlfriend then?” Yamapi asked, fixing his bow tie. He was worried that all the friends he had made where going to leave the café and he was going to be stuck there for a long time. He knew finding the right girl was going to be hard, especially with his extreme lack of social skills.
“Yeah…I met her a couple of weeks ago and we finally started being serious so she asked me to quit and I am.” Caleb said, smiling at him. It was obvious to Yamapi that Caleb was happy with this girl. He had noticed the way he smiled more often and the way he was in a happier mood around the café. It was obvious he liked her and Yamapi was happy for him.
“That’s great Caleb, I’m going to miss you,” Yamapi said, giving Caleb a smile and patting him on the back.
“I’ll come by sometimes, hey how are things going with Chri?” Caleb asked, giving him one of his famous grins.
“What do you mean?” Yamapi asked back looking at Caleb as if he had asked him when he had last had a dirty fantasy.
“Hahahaha, why are you looking at me like that man?” Caleb asked, laughing and holding his stomach.
“B-but what did you mean by how’s it going between me and Chri?” Yamapi asked again, putting down the glass he was holding, afraid of dropping it.
“Dude, everyone knows you like her.” Caleb remarked, rolling his honey brown eyes and patting him on the back, rather forcefully.
“What do you mean everyone? Even her!?” Yamapi inquired, his voice breaking due to the shock he was feeling.
“Relax, obviously she has no idea, but seriously…” Caleb began to say, with a now serious expression on his face. “How can you stand it while she complains about other guys not wanting her and you just stand there listening?” he asked, looking at Yamapi with a confused expression on his face.
“I don’t know, I just listen to her complaining and hope she doesn’t cry. It’s like I get more mad or sad if she cries and is sad because of some jerk, than if she complains…” he replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“Wow…dude I don’t know I think if it were me I’d just grab her by the shoulders and confess to her. Then kiss senseless, not giving her enough time to reply so she would totally say yes, because everyone knows I’m an awesome kisser.” Caleb said, crossing his hands and giving Pi a wink. “But that’s just me…” he added with a grin.
“No way!” Yamapi yelled, looking away and blushing madly. He would never be able to do that. He was not good at expressing his feelings, especially to girls so there was no way in hell he was going to do that.
Just the thought of him kissing her made his cheeks turn red and his pulse increase.
Caleb continued to laugh at Yamapi’s reaction. He walked out from behind the bar and headed towards the staff room to get things they needed to open the café. Before he got out from behind the bar he patted Yamapi once more on his shoulder and said, “Dude don’t freak out so much, I think she likes you too…”
“WHAT?” Yamapi screamed, his voice coming out in a high pitch, more than he had originally intended for it to sound.
“Yeah, I’m sure she likes you too…although I don’t think she has realized it yet.” Caleb said, frowning slightly and scratching his hair.
“Oh…” Yamapi replied, slumping his shoulders and pouting slightly.
“Hah! So you DO like her!” Caleb suddenly yelled, pointing at Yamapi’s nose, making the latter step away hurriedly.
“Wait…” Yamapi began to say, but Caleb walked away nonchalantly while waving at him without turning.
Just then the first customer of the day walked in, making Yamapi turn away from Caleb and greet the pretty Japanese girl. He smiled at her, even though he wished she was someone else.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christine sighed, resting her head on her hand, squishing her cheek against her palm.
“What’s wrong?” Eun Jae asked, looking at her best friend with a worried expression on her face. Then it hit her, there could be only one reason Christine was feeling so low and wanting chocolate.
Guys.
Seriously this girl had issues.
Christine looked at Jae and pouted while looking down at the table. She had brought her friend to Bishounen Café after having finally forgotten about Hideaki. “I want chocolate and this place has excellent chocolate cake, plus, it’s filled with hot guys!” she said, waving her arms indicating the hot guys who worked there.
“I know…” Jae said, catching one of the waiters eye and giggling softly.
“Is there something you wanted to tell me?” Christine asked looking at Eun Jae slightly jumping in her seat, waiting for her chocolate cake to arrive.
“Oh…well…you see that waiter over there?” Jae said, pointing to a waiter who was serving milkshakes to a couple of women a few tables away from them.
“Oh yes…” Christine said grinning, she had noticed Caleb was extremely good looking lately and she had been developing a slight crush on him too. She couldn’t help it, he was really cute and nice to her.
“Well…we are dating now…” Eun Jae declared, smiling at her friend.
“Oh…that’s great…” Christine uttered, looking at Eun Jae and forcing a smile. Seriously, did she have a black cloud hovering above her? “Wait…so he is the bus boy?” Christine asked, looking at Eun Jae with recognition in her hazel eyes.
“Yup, he was the guy I told you about, the one who sat on the bus next to me and kept talking to me for half an hour, thinking I was his friend from school…” Jae said, covering her mouth and giggling softly.
“That’s so cute…” Christine said, smiling slightly. She was happy for her friend, she really was, but she felt as though everyone was falling in love but her. Ok she did fall in love with several guys…but none of them liked her back. She bit the inside of her lower lip and tried not to let her tears fall. She didn’t want to bother anyone with her constant whining, yet she wanted to talk to someone she knew would listen to her. She rubbed her nose and tried to see whether Yamapi was working there today. She knew he had to be working there, its part of the reason she had come at this hour.
She was looking around, and didn’t notice that the waiter had brought her chocolate cake. “Chri!” Eun Jae called, making Christine look at her with a surprised look on her face. She looked like she had been startled and her cheeks were blushing slightly.
“You look like you were just caught doing something dirty…” Jae commented, grabbing a spoon and dipping it into her double fudge chocolate sundae.
“No I wasn’t!” Christine immediately defended.
“Anyways, your beloved cake is here, you should marry chocolate, everyone knows how much you love it.” Jae teased, licking her lips.
“Oh…” Christine uttered, looking down at the huge chunk of chocolate cake sitting on the white plate. What made her smile was what was written on it. There was a smiley face drawn in chocolate sauce and next to it where the words; Cheer up Chri and a heart. She smiled, she loved it when he wrote messages on her cake in chocolate sauce, and no it wasn’t because she would have more chocolate sauce that way.
She took out her phone and quickly took a picture of the chocolate message, wanting to save it. Jae saw her taking a picture of her food and tilted her head slightly. “Why do you keep taking pictures every time you get chocolate cake from here?” she asked, after swallowing some more ice cream.
Christine looked up at Jae and smiled while shrugging. “It’s just that ever piece of cake has a new message and I like to save it…” she replied, tucking her phone in her pocket. She grabbed her fork and took a big chunk of cake, putting it in her mouth. She found herself feeling happy, her eyes shining.
“Man…I know I love food, but you have a problem girl…” Jae commented, noticing the way she chewed her cake, the way her eyes shone and the approving sounds she made while eating it.
“What? It’s good cake…” Christine said, giggling softly as she dipping another piece of cake in the chocolate sauce message she had received.
“Ah huh…and can you tell me why someone keeps writing messages in chocolate sauce on your desserts every time we come here?” Jae asked, resting her hands on the table, eyeing Christine with a serious expression in her dark brown eyes.
Christine gulped loudly and rested her fork on the table. “You know about the messages?” she asked, suddenly feeling heat rise up from her neck.
“Of course I do, you keep getting messages written in chocolate sauce on your desserts along with smiley faces.” Eun Jae said with a shrug. “Now I’m not curious “a lot “ to know what they said, but I am curious as to who is sending them.” Jae continued, trying to see if she could get a name out of Christine.
“It’s nothing important…” Christine mumbled, looking down at her cake and taking another huge piece.
“Ah huh…and can you tell me why that cute waiter over there has been looking at our table ever since he brought the cake here?” Jae asked, making Christine gasp slightly and whip her head around to look at the bar where inevitably Yamapi stood, looking at them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yamapi widened his eyes when he saw the two girls looking at him. He immediately turned away and kneeled behind the bar, hoping that they hadn’t caught him staring at them. “Shit…” he mumbled to himself while putting his hands on his cheeks.
“You ok Pi?” Ryo asked, looking down from the countertop with a worried expression. He had come in to check that everything was going smoothly and was surprised to find one of his employees crouching behind the bar.
Yamapi looked up at his boss with his mouth hanging open. “I…” he began to utter, then to his surprise he looked up at saw Christine looking down at him.
“Shit…” he cursed again, not knowing how to react.
“Ah found it!” he suddenly yelled, getting up from the floor as if nothing happened, holding an imaginary object in his hand. “Oh hi Chri…” he greeted, pretending to just notice her standing there.
“Hey Pi…um listen can I talk to you for a sec?” Christine asked, biting her lower lip and looking slightly worried.
Yamapi looked at his boss for approval and Ryo nodded. He walked from behind the counter and took Christine over to the terrace since there weren’t any customers there yet and they could talk in private. His heart was pumping furiously beneath his chest while he looked at her, waiting for her to speak.
“I’m sorry…” Christine said, bowing her head slightly.
“What? Why are you apologizing?” Yamapi asked, his voice cracking slightly out of the shock. Why was she apologizing? Oh shit…had she thought the heart meant he liked her and she was rejecting him? Why in the world had he drawn that heart today? He should have just stuck to the usual smiley face. Stupid Pi! Now she was going to reject him and they won’t talk ever again! Really…drawing a heart…what made him think she was going to automatically assume he liked her and force her to confess to him?
“I’m sorry for always complaining about guys to you…” Christine continued to say, twirling her thumbs and pouting slightly.
“Oh…” Yamapi uttered, looking at her with a confused expression on his face, unable to keep the corners of his mouth from turning upwards. “It’s ok…I don’t mind…” he said, raising one of his hands to rub the back of his head while smiling at her.
“Ok good.” Christine said, thinking back to the conversation she had just had with Eun Jae before. She was glad that he didn’t seem to mind that she always complained to him about boys. She also thought she would do something to make it up to him though. After all he listened to her complaining all day and never once told her off…so she had to do something to make it up to him!
Suddenly Yamapi’s stomach growled and he blushed. “I better get back to work, it’s going to be another long day today…I’ll talk to you later” he said, giving her a small wave before heading back inside the café.
She kept staring at him as he went to greet new customers and suddenly an idea popped into her mind. She smiled at herself and rubbed her hands together. Hopefully he would like what she had planned.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christine held the box in her hand and looked inside the café through the glass doors. She noticed that Yamapi was still there and smiled at herself. She had timed everything perfectly and had arrived right before his shift ended. She walked through the glass doors and walked inside. Kiko was sweeping the floor and he didn’t even bother to greet her when he saw it was Christine. He knew she came for Yamapi, everyone knew that, except the main characters.
“Yo~” Christine greeted while waving at Yamapi, who was putting chairs on the tables so that he would be able to wash the floor later.
“Yo.” He replied, a smile on his face when he saw her. He put the upturned chair on the table and pulled a stool for her to sit on next to the bar. “What are you doing here anyways?” he asked and then he immediately stopped and looked at her with a worried expression. “Did another guy break your heart?” he asked, putting down his hands on the bar, looking directly at her.
Christine giggled and shook her head. “No silly, I came to give you this.” She said, handing him the box she had carefully wrapped inside a red polka dot white cloth.
“Oh…” Yamapi uttered, his eyes as round as brown marbles. Christine had learned a few things about Yamapi and one of them was that he loved food. It was partly the reason he worked in a café.
“I hope it’s good. I tried making a Japanese style bento, but I think I ruined it.” She said with a sad pout on her lips.
“I’m sure it’s delicious!” Yamapi cheered, taking the box from her hand and opening it hungrily. He took the first oddly shaped onigiri from the box and shoved it in his mouth. “It’s good…” he mumbled, with his mouth full. A rice grain stuck to his chin.
Christine giggled and covered her mouth. “I’m glad you like it.” She confessed, removing the rice grain from his chin, while giggling at how cute he looked while stuffing his face with food.
And so it became their regular routine, every day after work Christine would bring Yamapi a bento and they would stay there talking about anything and everything until it was pitch black outside. Yamapi would always save her a piece of their famous double fudge chocolate cake while she would make him his favorite onigiri and boiled eggs.
A couple of weeks had passed and one night Christine seemed to have something to tell Yamapi. “Did anything happen?” Yamapi asked, wiping his mouth.
“Actually, I met a guy…” Christine confessed, twisting her lips, feeling slightly uncomfortable.
“What do you mean you met a guy? Can’t you see I like you? Chri, I don’t want to hear you mentioning any other guy, I don’t want to see you cry over any other jerk anymore. I want you to be with me and I promise to take care of you and never make you cry like those previous jerks. I promise to only love you, like I have been since the moment I met you.”
Is what he should have said…instead…
“Oh” Yamapi simply uttered, looking at her with a slightly alarmed expression on his face.
“Yeah…his name is Aizawa Kousaku, he goes to my collage.” She said, twisting in her seat, still not brining herself to look at him. She felt uneasy talking to him about a guy this time. She didn’t know why, maybe because they had become so close these past few weeks…too close.
“Ah…so you see him often then ne?” Yamapi asked, trying to keep the food he had swallowed from coming back up.
“Hmm sort of…I don’t know though…” Christine confessed, biting her lower lip and playing with the remaining chocolate sauce in her plate.
“Do you like him?” he asked, her blushing slightly but glad he had.
“I don’t know,” she replied, looking at him while furrowing her eyebrows. “I don’t know if I like him. I’m feeling a bit confused at the moment…” she confessed.
“Oh…” he uttered, suddenly his pulse increased, making him feel hot all over.
“Yeah…so anyways tell me more about the incident you guys had this morning?” Christine asked, not really wanting to talk about Kousaku at the moment.
“Uh yeah…” Yamapi said, not really interested in saying the story about how Kiko almost dropped his cell phone in the toilet and they had ended up trying to hold him back from jumping in for it and then seeing the phone on the floor.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yamapi frowned, after last night he had been feeling like shit. When Christine had told him that she had met some guy at her college he was worried sick. He knew she was going to meet someone soon if he didn’t say anything.
He walked inside the café and started his shift. He had the afternoon shift again today so he knew that Christine was going to come by later after his shift ended with her bento. He sighed and walked inside to the staff room in order to change. He knew he had to tell her he liked her soon or else he was going to lose her to that Aizawa guy.
He sighed again, feeling his heart already race at the mere thought of confessing his feelings. He entered the staff room and opened his locker. He was about to open the locker door when he heard something rustling behind him. He turned to look around, his mouth hanging open.
Christine grinned widely, trying hard to hide behind a table, of course failing miserably. “What in the world are you doing in here?” Yamapi asked, glad he hadn’t taken his shirt off yet.
Christine looked around her and found a shiny piece of metal lying on the floor. She immediately grabbed it and tried to get up. She ended up bumping her head against the table but she ignored it and wobbled onto her feet. “I was searching for this!” she said in a breathless voice while showing him what she had apparently been searching for. Just when she flipped her hand, five condoms unwrapped from the one she was holding.
Yamapi tried really hard not to burst out laughing when he saw the distressed look on her face. “I’m glad you are at least being safe…” he commented, unable to keep himself from saying that.
“Shut up!” she whined, hitting him softly on the shoulder. She threw the condoms on the table with a disgusted look on her face. “Why are there condoms inside the Bishounen Café staff changing room?” she asked, looking at Yamapi with a questioning look.
“I don’t kn-” he tried to say but was interrupted by Christine’s gasp. “Oh my God! You guys do IT in here?! But I thought girls weren’t allowed back here…OH MY GOD! YOU ARE GAY!” she yelled, covering her cheeks with her hands in shock and looking at Yamapi with a horrified look on her face.
“NO! I’M NOT GAY!” Yamapi yelled, balling up his fists. “What makes you think I’m gay? I like girls you baka [idiot]!” he yelled. I like you! He wanted to yell.
“Oh…you aren’t…” she mumbled, breathing a sigh of relief.
“Yeah, so what are you doing in here anyways?” he asked, slightly pissed off that she had thought he was gay.
“Oh.” She uttered, looking up at him with a worried expression on her face. “It’s just that…Aizawa asked me out…”
Yamapi widened his eyes in shock and didn’t know what to say. A million thoughts invaded his mind, a million thoughts regarding the girl standing in front of him. No matter how many times he thought about it, he knew that he wanted to be with Christine, but now it was too late. He lowered his gaze onto the floor and then looked back up at her. “I guess you must be happy then,” he said, giving her a small smile, not quite reaching his eyes.
Christine stifled a small sob and could feel her eyes watering slightly. “No I’m not you idiot…” she mumbled, nibbling on her lower lip, hoping she wouldn’t cry in front of him.
“Why not? The guy you like, likes you back,” Yamapi said, feeling his heart crack with every word he spoke.
“He isn’t the guy I like,” she confessed, looking away from him and wrapping her arms around herself.
“What?” Yamapi uttered, cocking his head slightly, a habit of his when he didn’t understand something.
“Never mind, I’ll see you around Pi.” Christine mumbled, heading for the door. She couldn’t control her tears anymore and she wanted to get out of there “away from him.
“Wait!” Yamapi suddenly said, blocking her way by leaning his hand against the wall behind her, making her stop walking and gasp slightly. She blinked away her tears and sniffed.
Christine turned to look at him, feeling her heart hammer inside her throat at how close he was. “What do you want?” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
“What do you mean the guy you like doesn’t like you back?” he asked her, narrowing his eyes, fully trapping her by resting his other hand against the wall.
“Can’t you see?” she asked, balling up her fists. She was angry now, at how dense he actually was. Why wasn’t he taking the hint that the boy she was talking about was him?
“I know you aren’t talking about me, because if you are then you are wrong…I do like you.” He confessed, feeling his cheeks burn. He felt so vulnerable at this point, after confessing his feelings to her that the only reaction he could think of doing was close his eyes tightly, hoping that everything would vanish around him.
Christine looked up at him with a shocked expression, which was immediately replaced by a huge grin. So he did like her…and he wasn’t stupid! She thought while feeling her heart literally explode inside her chest. He looked adorable with his eyes closed and his lips pouted slightly. She didn’t think twice before kissing his lips quickly, making him open his eyes instantly.
She covered her mouth and giggled at his shocked expression.
He looked at her and smiled, “So I’m guessing you like me too?” he asked, blushing deeper from the previous kiss.
“Didn’t you already know that? I think I should be asking you that…” Christine said, furrowing her eyebrows.
“But I said I like you “ok now I’m getting confused,” Yamapi confessed, scratching his head and pouting slightly.
“Oh forget it, we both like each other, now kiss me you fool…” she ordered, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him unexpectedly again.
Yamapi didn’t object and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her back.
They were getting into it when suddenly the door burst open, revealing a very surprised MJ looking at the newly formed couple. “Oh…finally you guys got together…” he commented, noting that they were still in each other’s arms even though they had been surprised.
They smiled at each other and Yamapi said, “Want to go get something to eat?”
“Yeah…but don’t you have work to do?” she asked, looking back at MJ, who was still standing by the door.
“I guess I don’t work here anymore,” Yamapi replied, giving her a heartwarming smile, after he took her hand in his.
“Cool…” she said, grinning back up at him. “I want chocolate cake and kisses!” she declared as they walked out from the staff room.
“Chocolate kisses it is…” Yamapi said, as the two of them walked out of the café hand in hand.
