Tic. Toc. Tic. Toc.
A clock? How noisy. His head hurt like hell, he just wanted to sleep. Rest, drifting away…
Tic. Drop. Toc. Drip drip.
Falling water? As his mind got clearer, he began to wonder. Where is this? Obviously not his house, the smell and air were colder here. The floor too hard. Had he fallen and hit his head? There was only one way to find out.
He opened his eyes. And they immediately widened in terror once they had gotten used to the dark.
“It would be best if you sleep some more.”
A cloth got placed on his face, covering his mouth and nose. He struggled, needed air, but was too weak. Before Haruma Miura lost conscious again, he whispered a small prayer in his head.
Drop drop. Tic. Toc. Drip. Drop. Tic. Toc. Drip drip…
“Kyahyahyah~!”
Junsu’s laughter could be heard through the corridors, Jaejoong knew he would find him just by following the sound. And where Junsu was, the others probably were too.
Entering the room he saw, as predicted, Junsu sitting together with Yoochun. They were playing the card game Go-Stop, Junsu clearly in the lead. This was rather rare, since Yoochun was the best of them all at playing it. Maybe he had gotten tired of hearing Junsu’s complains about always losing and decided to lose on purpose.
Next to them, Jaejoong noticed, sat DBSK’s maknae Changmin in deep concentration. Food, of course. Jaejoong had always wondered how Changmin could eat so much and still be so slim. Definitely not fair, he must have been blessed by higher powers.
“Jaejoong, over here.”
Yunho, their respected leader, waved Jaejoong over and pointed at the seat next to him. In front of him was a TV, it seemed like the news channel was on.
“Watch this.”
Curious Jaejoong sat down next to his best friend, wanting to know what Yunho was looking at. He was right. The channel was YTN, one of the news channels.
“…said Johnny Kitagawa, founder of Johnny’s Entertainment.” The news reporter touched his glasses. “A quick sum up: Another celebrity has disappeared, this time Japanese actor Haruma Miura. He’s only the latest add to the still growing list of kidnapped persons. The first one was Taiwanese Danson Tang; he disappeared the second Thursday of last month, and since then the whereabouts of several well-known faces’ has been unknown. This mystery continues without any clues. We advise everyone, famous or not, to be extra careful these days. Now to the sports…”
Yunho turned off the sound on the TV and leaned back, a frown on his forehead. Jaejoong looked at him with a confused look.
“Yunho, what was that? Why haven’t we heard of this before?”
Biting his lip before answering, Yunho watched the now silent TV reporter.
“I’m not sure, Jae. I really don’t know. What I do know, though, is the fact that Manager or anyone else has not told us this, it troubles me. But don’t tell the others, not yet.”
Jaejoong nodded, and the two hyungs turned their attention toward their younger friends, seeing them have fun together without any worries.
Dring. Riiiing. Dring.
Jaejoong and Yunho jumped by the sound, they had both been deeply in thoughts.
Changmin put down his chopsticks and pulled out his cell phone, answering it. Junsu and Yoochun stopped playing and listened careful as Changmin spoke.
Being too far away to hear it themselves, Yunho and Jaejoong waited for Changmin to finish the call. They didn’t have to wait long.
“Hyungs! Manager just called, there has been some changes in our schedule. We have to leave now.”
Junsu, Yoochun and Changmin immediately began packing their things, but Jaejoong first moved when Yunho shrugged his shoulders and muttered ‘maybe it is nothing, lets go’.
They left.
